Most people notice that their libido is going through some changes day after day. And, there are a ton of factors why that is.

Maybe you’re having some relationship problems. Or, maybe your work hours are too long and too stressful to let you even think about your sexual desires.

There are a ton of things that might factor into your sex drive being a little or lower than it usually is. What kind of factors? Here’s some more about that:

The Factors that Affect Your Libido

The factors that affect your libido can either be:

  • Biological
  • Psychological

No matter what age you are, these factors are what’s going to contribute to your sex drive is high or low.

How your body is doing, whether or not you contracted a disease, or even if you’re not eating well enough or healthy enough. All these factors are biological. They contribute to your sex drive is lower than usual.

On the other hand, psychological factors include anxiety, stress, your mental state, whether or not you have any mental issues. All of them can also lead to your libido decreasing.

And yet, they’re still not the only actors that can contribute to your low libido. Hormones can also affect how low your libido is. Your levels of sex hormones also contribute to your sex drive going down.

And, depending on your age, those levels might either be high or low. If you’re in your 20s, then it’s very likely that your libido is a lot higher than the one that people in their 40s have.

But, that fact also depends on some people. Here’s some more information about this topic:

People in their 20s

Whether you’re in your early or late 20s, there is no doubt that your sex drive is really strong. This is likely due to you being really young and having a lot of energy.

You might be new to the whole relationship thing. You might also be sexually curious about a lot of things.

It’s okay if you are. Those are all pretty normal reactions that almost every single one of us has when we’re in our 20s.

If you’re in your 20s and have a low libido, then it’s likely due to you taking some sort of medication. You might have some sort of health or even mental problems.

Whatever the case, the issues that you’re experiencing when you’re in your 20s are usually not as bad as the ones you might experience when you’re in your 40s.

People in their 40s

Generally speaking, people in their 40s experience a vast change in their hormonal levels.

And, this applies to both men and women. Most women in their 40s enter perimenopause, which happens about 5-10 years before menopause.

Perimenopause can have a big effect on your sex drive.

Men usually tend to feel a vast decrease in their hormonal levels, which also contributes to their low sex drive.

One thing you can do when you’re in your forties is to think about your decrease in libido positively. Think of everything else you can experience. Your relationships, your everyday life.

And, just because your sex drive will not be as strong as it once was, doesn’t mean that it’s non-existent.

You can still have a great sexual experience. It’s just not going to happen as often as it once did. Which is okay, it really is.
